FMJC (Femmes des Medias pour la Justice au Congo), in partnership with CPS-AVIP have held a seminar with parliamentarian as part of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence on the 29th of November 2013 in Kinshasa.
The United Nations General Assembly's work on disarmament is carried out by one of its main committees. First Committee deals on Disarmament and International Security. The Centre for Peace, Security and Armed Violence Prevention was involved in the First Committee of the UNGA in New York by the Programme Director Nounou Booto Meeti.
CPS – AVIP was represented by Nounou Booto Meeti as part of Control Arms coalition for an effective implementation of the ATT [Arms Trade Treaty]. Campaigners were gathering in Port of Spain / Trinidad & Tobago from 23 – 24 February for the Preparatory Meeting toward the First Conference of States (CSP) Parties to the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT).
CPS - AVIP has been active at the last conference in Berlin in supporting the African Group toward a successful participation of African States. Zambia, Lesotho, South Africa, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria and Mali have been leading the way in steering the African Group to a consensus on various aspects related to the first Conference of States Parties of the Arms Trade Treaty.
